Kangaroo kicks female golfer to ground and stomps on her repeatedly in unprovoked attack on golf course

AN AUSTRALIAN woman has been taken to hospital after being ATTACKED by a kangaroo on a golf course.

The woman, 69, was playing golf at the Arundel Hills Country Club in Queensland when the incident occurred just after 9 a.m. on Friday morning.

The kangaroo attacked her from the side as she walked down the first fairway, kicking the woman to the ground before stomping on the victim.

It is the same course that was invaded by a mob of kangaroos in October, interrupting a couple trying to tee off.

Paramedics provided medical assistance before the unnamed woman was taken to Pindara private hospital in a stable condition.

Ambulance service operations supervisor Joel McEwan said: “She’s fallen to the ground at that first kick, and then when she’s been on the ground, she’s been stomped [on] a number of times by the kangaroo,”

“She was walking down the fairway, and the kangaroo’s come from the side, and just attacked without warning.

“The patient was quite upset at the scene … obviously it’s a shock being attacked by quite a large kangaroo.”

The woman sustained cuts all over her body with the most serious wound to her jaw which required stitches.

Once the kangaroo ended the attack the woman was able to get into a golf buggy – where she waited for the arrival of the paramedics.

She has since been discharged from hospital and is expected to make a full recovery in her home in Paradise Point, report 9News Queensland.

It is not the first attack on the course and the kangaroo in question has a reputation for being aggressive.

Arundel Hills Country Club member Scott Powick told 9News Gold Coast: “It would be the big female that attacked me, we saw it attack other people as well.

“And we know it put another person in hospital not that many months ago.”
