UK daily Covid deaths fall below 50 as cases climb by 19% in a week with 36,100 new infections recorded

COVID reported daily deaths fell to 49 in the past 24 hours as cases climbed by 19 per cent in a week.

There were 36,100 new infections recorded in today’s figures, up from 30,283 cases last Monday.

In total, 7,465,448 people in the UK have tested positive for the virus.

Today’s reported death toll of 49 was down from last Monday’s figure of 61.

The overall death toll from coronavirus since the pandemic struck stands at 135, 252.

It comes as it was announced that holidays to the US will be back on within weeks.

Double jabbed visitors from the UK and the EU will allowed back to the States from November.
