Education bosses will lose right to check EU teachers after No Deal Brexit

EDUCATION chiefs sparked fears for kids’ safety today by admitting they can’t screen foreign teachers working here if there’s a No Deal Brexit.

Schools would lose access to an international database which flags banned teachers, at the end of March.

Officials have revealed they don’t know how they will check potential teachers from the EU are safe to work with kids if we leave with No DealAlamy

Teachers who are slapped with sanctions or restrictions on teaching in their home countries might not be flagged up after we go.

That would leave schools to make their own checks when they hire staff from the EU – rather than using a Government scheme as they do now.

Officials revealed today that they will update schools “shortly” on “keeping children safe guidance”.
