FREE mobile phone roaming across Europe will continue after Brexit even if there is no deal, ministers will reveal today.

The Government has struck an agreement with the four phone company giants – including Vodafone and EE – who cover 85% of the market to ensure the status quo remains.

The development emerges as the Cabinet will also be asked to approve a mutli-billion pound no deal spending spree in eight weeks time.

They include investing in a raft of new IT systems and infrastructure projects to manage a cliff edge Brexit.

Mobile roaming will be one of 30 new technical notices released today after the Downing Street summit in a bid to prepare the country, after a first tranche in August.

The roaming breakthrough means customers will save as much as £700 a month on the most expensive roaming tariffs.

Scrapping rip off roaming charges in 2015 was deemed a major success of the EU.
