Before Britney tied the knot with Sam Asghari, the pop music superstar was married twice before.
Who is Jason Alexander?
Born October 16, 1981, Jason Alexander was Spears’ first husband.
It is not known what he does for a living but the two were childhood friends after growing up in Kentwood, Louisiana, together.
On January 3, 2004, the two held their nuptials in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The marriage lasted 55 hours and was annulled on Monday, January 5, 2004.

When did Jason Alexander marry Britney Spears?
At the time of the wedding, both Britney and Jason were 22 years old.
Alexander told news outlets at the time: “She just came out and asked me.”
“She was like, ‘Well, let’s get married.’ And I was like, ‘Sure. You know, let’s do this.'”
Following their ceremony, the two got annulled just 55 hours later, making it one of the shortest celebrity weddings in history.

He told ABC News in 2012 that when her mother Lynne and managers found out, “everyone went crazy because there was no prenup.”
The subsequent annulment stated that the pop star “lacked understanding of her actions, to the extent that she was incapable of agreeing to the marriage”.
Spears then got engaged to backup dancer Kevin Federline and the two married in October 2004.
They have two sons together – Sean Preston and Jayden James.
The singer filed for divorce in November 2006, two months after the birth of their youngest child.
Why did Jason Alexander and Britney Spears get divorced?
In July 2021, it was revealed that the 55-hours marriage ended because of Spears’ mother, Lynne.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, 80-year-old Mark Goldberg, a divorce attorney explained his recollection of events.
“Jason was looking for advice. He was very emotional and upset.”
The attorney recalled: “Britney had called him to come to Las Vegas. She was there with friends as I recall, and she paid for his airfare to come.”
“As I remember it, it was Britney’s idea to get married. He said they hadn’t been drinking or doing drugs – or at least they weren’t drunk.”
Goldberg revealed that he asked Alexander multiple times if they were intoxicated in any way and he insisted that they were not and they were in clear mind when they said their I Do’s.
After Spears called her mother to tell her the news was when the wedding took a turn.
“Jason was confused because he loved Britney and he didn’t want to hurt her, but he was very afraid of her mother and management,” Goldberg shared.
Alexander also said on the Toxic: The Britney Spears Story podcast that he signed annulment papers under the assumption that they would be able to continue their relationship and have a proper wedding down the line.
“They told me if I would sign the contracts — the annulment — they would let me and Britney continue our relationship, and if we felt the same way in six months, they would give us a proper marriage,” Alexander said.
“So I had no reason to believe otherwise. I thought that’s what the truth was. They were allowing Britney and I to still have phone communication.”
Alexander recalls having phone conversations every day following the annulment and then one day it just stopped.
“Literally the day after, like, the 30 days was up, I remember trying to call the number I had for Britney and it was like, ‘Beep, beep, beep,'” he continued. “I’m like, ‘F*** they got me! Motherf**kers!’ So that was it.”
“This wasn’t a stranger she’d just picked up. They had known each other for years,” Goldberg said. “He thought if he played the game and did what they asked, she’d come around, and he and Britney would be together.”
“It was the mother interfering in and inserting herself into her daughter’s life,” Goldberg continued. “She came to Las Vegas, threw Jason out and got him a plane ticket home.”
While neither Lynne or Britney have commented on the story, Goldberg noted: “I really believe this particular event had a detrimental impact on Britney Spears’ life — the way she’s been controlled and the toll that has taken.”
Goldberg offered Alexander his legal services at the time, but he wanted to wait it out hoping that her mother’s words were true, but it was ultimately too late.
Where do Britney and Jason stand today?
On August 19, 2020, Alexander was spotted at a #FreeBritney protest in Los Angeles amid Britney’s conservatorship battle with her dad, Jamie Spears.
Speaking to UsWeekly, he said he’s kept in touch with his former childhood friend and he’d be open to getting back together with her if she wanted it.
“I’ve got love for her, definitely,” he told the magazine.
“I’d love to be back in her life some way or another, but this conservatorship is holding that back from happening.”
He added: “We never were given a shot the first time around. If there’s feeling still there, maybe we see where they go but that’s not — you know that’s on her.”
On June 9, 2022, Britney’s nuptials with Sam Asghari went underway in Los Angeles, California.
Reports claimed that although Jason was not invited to the wedding, he decided to show up anyway.
Upon attempting to crash the ceremony, he was escorted out of the location as he chronicled the ordeal on Instagram live.
Eyewitnesses from the scene told The Sun: “Jason walked up the Los Robles hiking trail next to Britney’s property, it must have taken him the best part of an hour.”
“He said he has been coming here for three weeks and he was live on Instagram, then he just jumped over the fence.
