Disgraced ex Tory MP Imran Ahmad Khan jailed over sex attack on 15-year-old boy Disgraced ex Tory MP Imran Ahmad Khan jailed over sex attack on 15-year-old boy

“REMORSELESS” MP Imran Ahmad Khan has been jailed today for 18 months for a sex attack on a Catholic schoolboy at a party.

The ex Tory politician, who represented Wakefield, gave the 15-year-old victim gin, pushed him onto a bed and asked him to watch porn at a 21st birthday party in 2008.

The lad, who is now 29, froze in terror as Khan, 48, touched his feet and legs, coming within a “hair’s breadth” of his private parts.

He said he felt “scared, vulnerable, numb, shocked and surprised” during the assault.

Khan said he only touched the teen’s elbow when the victim became “extremely upset” during a conversation about his sexuality.

He admitted asking the boy, a Catholic, whether he watched pornography during a “philosophical, moralistic and theological” discussion.

However, he denied sexual assault, claiming he was simply trying to be “kind and “helpful” and insisting the victim had lied.

But in April jurors found him guilty following a trial at Southwark Crown Court in London.

Jurors also heard the defendant drugged and assaulted an aid worker in Pakistan three years after preying on the boy.

Today, Khan returned to the court to be sentenced. Wearing a dark suit and carrying a suitcase packed ready for jail, he showed no emotion as he was jailed.

Jurors heard Khan forced the boy to drink a G&T on the night of the assault. The victim said he “didn’t like it” but the defendant “kept pushing it back”.

Khan then dragged him onto a bed, whispered “disgusting” things in his ear, and requested he watch porn with him.

The boy said he “jumped out of bed as fast as he could” and ran to his parents.

In a moving victim impact statement, he said: “Because of this assault, throughout my teenage years I found being touched very difficult.

“I still find it difficult and embarrassing to talk about sex.

‘I WAS CALLED A LIAR’

“My mental health has deteriorated rapidly.”

He told in harrowing detail of the impact of Khan’s denial, adding: “I have had my own assault pantomimed back to me and been told I am a liar.”

A police report was made at the time but no further action was taken as the youngster did not want to make a formal complaint.

However, he then went to police days after Khan helped Boris Johnson win a large Commons majority in 2019.

He also complained to the Tories, but felt he “wasn’t taken very seriously” by the party.

I don’t accept that you have any remorse… your only regret is for yourself

The Conservatives finally booted Khan out following his conviction, but he only resigned as an MP this month.

The victim told jurors “it all came flooding back” when he learned Khan was standing.

Mr Justice Baker told Khan the lad has been “profoundly affected”.

“He wrestles with guilt as members of his own family have had to relive moments of the offence during this trial. which I have witnessed cause enormous amounts of anguish,” the judge said.

“I do not accept that you have any remorse. The only regret you feel is for yourself having found yourself in this predicament for events some 14 years ago.
