Rowlett helicopter crash in Texas leaves one dead as chopper bursts into flames outside a shopping mall

TEXAS police said at least one dead after helicopter crash.

The Rowlett Police Department announced on Twitter that the pilot of the helicopter did not survive the accident.

CBS DFW reported that witnesses saw the chopper come down hard and fast, bursting into flames before the Rowlett Fire Department arrive on the scene and put the blaze out.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the helicopter went down around 11:30am with only the pilot on board.

Dallas Texas TV posted a video of a tragic helicopter crash right beside a busy highway.

The video shows a plume of smoke coming out of the fallen helicopter right in front of a strip mall.

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the incident.
