Lense, 46, arrived at Carrington on Monday but he is unable to start working with the squad until he receives his work visa.

Armas, 49, is also awaiting a work visa – which delayed Rangnick’s arrival – but will soon team up with colleagues Mike Phelan and Kieran McKenna.

Rangnick is said to be keen on adding three new coaches or analysts after the departure of Michael Carrick.

And the German is happy to have the new men on board, having worked with Lense previously.

Lense spent six years at RB Leipzig between 2015-21, working as a mental coach during Rangnick’s two spells at the club.

Speaking about their arrival, Rangnick said: “About the coaching, I’m more than happy to work with them.

“I need their expertise and experience regarding the current squad.

“I want to find one, two or three to join us but due to Brexit regulations, it’s not that easy.

“Many of my former colleagues are tied up in long-term contracts with big clubs so they are not available right now.

“We need to be smart and clever and find the right names, hopefully in one or two weeks but I don’t know.”

Rangnick’s reign got off to the perfect start as Man Utd beat Crystal Palace on Sunday at Old Trafford.
