Where is Joe Biden?
On November 18, 2021, Biden will host President Lopez Obrador and Prime Minister Trudeau in Washington, DC to discuss energy, trade, and borders.
This is the first time since the Obama administration that the leaders of these three countries are meeting.
The summit, called, the North American Leaders’ Summit, will look into fortifying ties and figuring out concrete plans for the countries post-coronavirus pandemic.
The presidents will not hold a joint press conference after the meeting.
The news of the meeting comes after President Biden signed the $1trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill into law at 3pm on Monday, November 15, 2021.
After signing the bill into law, he stated on Twitter that: “I just signed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal into law alongside members of Congress from both parties. This is a historic investment in our future that will create good-paying jobs and rebuild our nation’s infrastructure. It’s an enormous win for the American people”.
He also met with His Excellency Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China at 7:30pm on Monday, November 15.
On Saturday, November 6, 2021, President Biden spoke openly about the passing of his infrastructure package by Congress.
The $1trillion package promises to create jobs and improve public works like broadband and water supplies.
Biden took to his Twitter account to share his opinions on the recent passing of the bill, referring to the bill as “a once-in-a-generation investment that will create millions of jobs modernizing our infrastructure, turn the climate crisis into an opportunity, and put us on a path to win the 21st century.”
The president continued: “The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal will create good-paying, union jobs and transform our transportation system with the most significant investments in passenger rail in 50 years, in roads and bridges in 70 years, and in public transit ever.
“This Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal creates jobs replacing lead water pipes so every American can drink clean water.
“And jobs making high-speed internet available everywhere in America so no parent has to sit in a parking lot so their child can access the internet for homework.
What did Joe Biden say about Covid-19 vaccination in children?
On November 3, Biden addressed the nation and called for parents to get their children vaccinated against the virus, following the CDC’s authorization of the Covid-19 vaccine for kids ages 5 to 11, later calling it “a giant step forward to further accelerate our path out of this pandemic.”
“The bottom line is: We’ve been planning and preparing for months to vaccinate our children. Our program will be ramping up this week and more doses (will be) shipped out each day so that we have it fully up and running by next week,” Biden said.
“We’re going to do everything we can to make these vaccines easily available and raise awareness of the importance of getting vaccinated. So parents of children ages 5 and over: please get them vaccinated,” he continued.
“Because here’s the deal. Children make up one-quarter of the cases in this country and while rare, children can get very sick from Covid-19. And some can end up, few can end up hospitalized.”
Biden later went on to address speculation adding that the “vaccine is safe and effective” so parents should “get [their] children vaccinated to protect themselves, to protect others and to stop the spread and to help us beat this pandemic.”
