Boris Johnson WON’T isolate after sharing plane with staffer who tested positive for Covid

ONE of Boris Johnson’s top aides tested positive for Covid just hours after the pair shared a plane on his trip to Scotland.

Downing Street insisted the two had not been in “close contact” with one another and he didn’t need to isolate again.

The staffer, who accompanied the PM on a trip on his visit to Scotland earlier this week, is isolating there along with others they had been near.

No10 insisted the PM, who is now at Chequers for the weekend, is regularly tested for Covid.

He has also been double jabbed, and like the rest of the country, will be about to skip isolation from August 16 if he is in close contact with someone with Covid.

A spokesperson said last night: “The Prime Minister regularly visits communities across the UK and all aspects of visits are carried out in line with covid guidance.

“The Prime Minister has not come into close contact with anyone who has tested positive.”

It comes just a week after the PM came out of isolation after he was in contact with Health Secretary Sajid Javid, who tested positive for the virus.

He and the Chancellor spent ten days inside despite being doubled – following a furious backlash after it was suggested they might skip quarantine.
