COVID19 in the Southern Hemisphere

Why is there so little corona virus in the southern hemisphere?  Is the answer staring us in the face?

First digest the following fact.  As of the last day in February, only around 1% of people said to have COVID-19 were in the southern hemisphere. Why so few?

Some people would point to the fact that the southern hemisphere has only 1/8 of the world's population, and that southern hemisphere cities are much less densely populated than in the north.  However population factors make no sense.  Here's why.

John Donne said, "No man is an island".  Likewise, no city is an island in the modern, aviation world.  Consider Sydney as a typical southern hemisphere city, with millions of people living, working, and otherwise interacting in close proximity (at least before the corona virus event).

The Australian Government's Aviation Report (page 11, Table IV)
shows that Sydney airport handled 16.9 million (international) passengers in the year ended June 30th, 2019.  That's an average of 1.4 million (international) passengers a month.  How many of them must have brought corona virus to Sydney during December, January, and February?

Moreover, since all southern hemisphere cities have major airport, then Corona virus must have been flying (duty free) to all parts of the southern hemisphere during December, January, and February.  So I reiterate this crucial question:  Why were only 1% of corona virus cases reported in the southern hemisphere by the end of their summer?  What is so different about the southern hemisphere?  Maybe this corona virus prefers pasta to crocodile.

Or maybe the answer is staring us in the face, in the form of the sun.  For instance, the southern hemisphere has just had a very sunny summer (witness those endless forest fires, endlessly reported as unprecedented due to climate change)!

Now compare the northern hemisphere, which has endured a long, wet, sunless winter.

I believe the corona virus is a "winter bug", albeit as serious as flu for those who are weak.  Now evidence from the University of Turin supports thi view.  Drs Giancarlo Isaia and Enzo Medico postulated a link between COVID-19 and hypovitaminosis D, and advise Vitamin D supplementation to combat corona virus.  How ironic if mankind had missed the clue which is in the name of the virus!  The word "corona" - which means the crown of light surrounding the sun!

Speculation aside, one thing is for sure.  The sledgehammer being used by the global community to crack the COVID nut, is rapidly bringing the globalist economy into recession.
